The Canadian Network of Ministries to Muslims host a biennial conference under the banner of "Loving Muslims Together".
Our 2012 conference is co-hosted by the Association of Chinese Evangelical Ministries.

It will take place in Toronto and is built around the theme, "here for a purpose". It takes direction from Acts 17:26-27 which states.." From one man He made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and He marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands. God did this so that they would seek him and perhaps reach out for Him and find Him, though He is not far from any one of us."
It is clear that God has purpose in directing where people live. A chess board, if you will, directed by Him. That purpose comes to fruition when people reach out to find Him. So while some are dismayed by huge migration and the change of the ethnic makeup of countries like Canada, we see this is part of God's plan. Ultimately it is not the immigration policies of multiculturalism or world wide refugee crisis that determine who lives where - it is God Himself.
There are currently more than one million Muslims living in Canada. While some may not identify themselves primarily by their religious affiliation, for most it is more than an affiliation - it is who they are.
Roughly 50% of all new immigrants to Canada would identify themselves as Muslim. While anything but a uniform descriptor of these people who come from a many sections of the globe, a secular Canada may not yet know how to integrate these newcomers. Some even doubt whether a secular Canada can continue to exist with the growing influence of a devout and proud people. Islam is not new to Canada - the first mosque was opened in 1938 in Edmonton. However, the majority of Muslims in Canada today are first or second generation Canadians and many are in process to citizenship.
The Canadian Network of Ministries to Muslims welcomes Muslims into Canada because we recognize that God has placed them here just as determinedly as He has placed us here. Not only are we going to benefit by the richness of the diversity that is brought into this country, we will also have an opportunity to grow in our own faith as we interact with others. Beyond this we have something vital to share that has been intentionally kept from these new citizens by the governments in many of their countries of origin. We want all to know that God has provided a way of salvation through the work of Jesus Christ. This way is not only open to Christians, but also to Muslims. We know that there is a great chasm of misunderstanding, fear and mistrust that is being promoted and encouraged both in Muslim and non-Muslim circles. We want to break down those barriers that keep people from talking to one another, from understanding one another and from openly discovering God. We also want to discourage attitudes that vilify and demean others. God has placed us all here so that we all seek Him and reach out to Him. The CNMM is a network of people and organisations that want to 'love Muslims together'.
The 2012 conference is built around enabling learning from one another and from those with greater experience how we can effectively introduce Muslims to the Lord Jesus Christ. You can download a brochure from here.
